Dinosaur valley state park.

I did not really know the place is real and unique. I mean the dinosaurs who lived here a long time ago and left their footprints on the bottom of the river.

It was the perfect 2-days trip with an overnight in the camping with a tent in the state park.
After breakfast, we drove 250 miles/403km or 4,5 hours to park, put the tent and went to explore the park. It took us a few hours to get familiar with the place, to swim in the river and to try finding the footprints of dinosaurs.
On the next day, we went hiking, seeking the dinosaurs footmarks and swimming the rest of the day before driving home after lunch.
For me, this kind of plan is workable since I don't need to drive 7-8 hours a day.

The next morning we went hiking. The trail description of the trail promised us a nice view and some pools along the way.

The greatest part of the activity at the park is crossing the river. Any way you go you have to ford a stream. The kids had a wonderful mix of sun and water during our stay at the park. It saved us, otherwise, the heat +42C could kill us literally.

One of the pools which were promised.

Another one.

Can you see a crawfish?

Unfortunately, the trail is very badly marked so we lost some way.
The kids were really happy to go back to the water routine spending several hours with splashing so I could take a few shots of modest flora.

The footprints of dinosaurs are located on the bottom of the river. The only way to find them is to spet into the water and wade a bit seeking the trace of ancient animals. We successfully managed to find 1 place of 5 with the footmarks.
