Krause Springs.

What can you expect from the Texas weather in July? Just one more hot day ahead with two kids who are bored by sitting at home under air conditioner and doing nothing special.
We had two options: a sea beach or some new place with cool water in a driving distance of a couple hours. The children voted for swimming in the cold water. So we went after the early breakfast towards Austin. It took us 3 hours of driving to get there.

As you passed the entrance to the camping site you can turn to the beautiful garden full of plants, flowers and lovely details.

The first, upper pool is located down the hill. I loved  how the owners decorated the park. It does not look like an ordinary camping site.

Both pools supply with springs water. It means the temperature of water is all year round at 68F/20C. Even here, in manmade pool water is icy cold compared to the air (it was about 100F/38C).

Crispy water and hot air at a shaded spot are great combinations.

The view from above of the second, natural pool.

The rocky waterside and the color of the water is not so comfortable as it was in the upper pool.

On the other side of the pool the water is crystal clear so you can see a fish, plants and roots.

After a while I got bored cause there is not a lot of things to do, specially when you are afraid of  turtles and snakes that are living in the water, and you do not like the clarity of water even if it's cold and refreshing. So I took a walk to check this place.

This part of natural pool is not big as it appears on the photos. It is delightful and cozy to escape from the heat of  the Texas summer days.

The reason I came here is hiding under the dropping water from the upper pool and  these green bushes.

It is a ideal place for a photo-shoot.

Hold your breath and wait until all the people gone from the viewfinder.
