Persimmon season is oficially opened

I was waiting for September since July. Unfortunately, the farm where we went last time to was closed because of the road reparations. Due to the enormous size of  Texas State and Houston area, it is not a big deal to find out an alternative, a backup plan.  There is just one factor you have to take into consideration.  You are going to travel for several hours to a destination.

This is how I found out the persimmon farm, who runs the Russian lady, at a distance of 1.5 hours of driving from our place.

The farm owner has animals who run after you in hope of receiving the fresh fruits from the trees.

Every tree has a label with the variety of persimmon.
Saruga kaki.

Jiombo kaki/persimmon.

Saigo persimmon.

This tree had the sign Unknown variety. The size of fruit is as huge as a first of a big adult man. We did not try it and did not tear off any of them cause they were too green to eat.

This guy is the smart donkey. Is he from SHREK?

We picked up a bucket of slightly yellow unripe persimmons. But after a few days, they became ripe, sweet and orange as the sun.
